HEALTH CARE RESOURCES

VA HEALTH CARE

Seeking health care assistance for yourself or your family? You can find an array of services through the VA. Explore further information on programs available and how you can apply.

VA BENEFIT FORMS AND APPLICATIONS

Through the VA’s website or the Veterans Online Application (VONAPP) portal, veterans and qualified beneficiaries can apply for health, education, employment benefits and more.

HOSPITAL REPORT CARD

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) provides guidance on hospitals that provide safe and effective healthcare services to veterans. By reviewing VA hospitals and clinics on an annual basis, the VHA ensures that veterans and their families have access to the latest information about medical providers and hospitals.

GERIATRICS & EXTENDED CARE

Many vets need extensive medical care due to an age-related illness, chronic condition or severe injury. The Office of Geriatrics and Extended Care Services (GEC) addresses the medical needs of elderly and severely ill veterans.

CHAMPVA

The Citizens Health and Medical Programs of the VA (“CHAMPVA”) is a health benefits program allowing eligible vets to share the cost of some health services & supplies with the VA. Explore eligibility, coverage and more.

GUIDE DOGS & SERVICE DOGS

Veterans with visual impairments or hearing loss have access to guide and service dogs through the VHA. Guide dogs and service dogs are often used to help the veteran maintain his or her independence.

OFFICE OF RURAL HEALTH

The Veterans Rural Health Resources Centers can help servicemen and women living in rural areas get access to the often hard-to-obtain healthcare services they need, through clinic expansions, telehealth, and more.

VETERANS BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY

Learn about the minimum requirements of duty, basic and enhanced eligibility, and find information on enrollment for VA benefits before you file your application.

HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER

The Health Resource Center is a nationwide, toll-free telephone service providing support to veterans and their families who have questions regarding health benefits, eligibility, and billing issues.

PATIENT SAFETY

The VA National Center for Patient Safety (“NCPS”) aims to constantly evaluate and improve the quality of veterans’ care through feedback from veterans and healthcare professionals. The center provides fact sheets with general information about veterans’ health as well as information on specific NCPS programs and initiatives.

VA INSURANCE BENEFITS

If a servicemember is injured or killed while on active duty, Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance and the Traumatic Injury Protection Program may compensate veterans and their families.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT

The men and women who assist veterans with daily activities, personal hygiene and general safety can find resources for questions they may have by visiting the VA’s Caregiver Support webpage.

EBENEFITS NATIONAL RESOURCE DIRECTORY

eBenefits, a service provided jointly by the VA and DOD, is an online portal featuring a searchable National Resource Directory so you can find information on everything from compensation to housing to travel.
