Wounded Warriors

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) serves veterans and servicemembers who were injured after September 11, 2001. Since September 11, 2001, over 48,000 military members have been injured. After September 11, 2001, a new generation of war began. Over 40,000 servicemembers have been injured since the conflict started. WWP aims to serve all of the servicemembers injured in the wars arising from the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

What Does the Wounded Warriors Project Do?

WWP serves wounded servicemembers and veterans by using a multi-pronged approach to create healthy civilian transitions. WWP provides veterans with assistance in the employment, educational, medical and social arenas. The project recognizes that wounded veterans have multiple needs that need to be addressed systematically and comprehensively.

WWP project provides wounded servicemembers with the opportunity to:

  • Participate in PTSD workshops
  • Compete in WWP athletic events and sports
  • Engage in employment placement
  • Work with family members
  • Receive a wounded mentor
  • Combat stress

Making Sure You Get All Of Your Benefits

The WWP helps wounded warriors maximize their benefits. Financial insecurity keeps many veterans awake at night, and the WWP Benefits Service helps servicemembers fill out every claim properly. Whether servicemembers qualify for assistance from the VA Office or the Department of Defense, Wounded Warrior Project and courageous mentors and volunteers will help.
