The American Legion
The American Legion was chartered in 1919 by Congress as a veterans’ organization. Today, there are more than 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts across the United States along with Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines. The legion has a variety of programs, from sports to scholarship opportunities to community programs which strive to help veterans in need.
