Caregivers

They may not always be blood relatives but a veteran’s caregiver can be a big part of their family. The VA extends support and resources for caregivers who may assist a veteran with tasks, from activities of daily living or personal hygiene to providing supervision for their safety.

The men and women who look after veterans in need can visit the VA’s Caregiver Support page for answers to some important questions.

Resources for Caregivers

Information on eBenefits, the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the VA (CHAMPVA), My HealtheVet and more is available to visitors. Topics like homelessness, military sexual trauma (MST), long term care, polytrauma and traumatic brain injury (TBI) are also addressed.

These resources are provided to further assist caregivers in finding and providing the best care possible for our veterans.

Caregivers can also explore non-VA resources, such as the Administration on Aging and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) emergency preparedness documents. Information on the government’s Medicare program and the National Resource Directory for service members, veterans, family members and caregivers can also be found here.

Learn more about the resources available to caregivers of veterans by visiting the VA’s website.
