Vets National Advocates annual academic scholarship

At Vets National Advocates we believe in helping those who courageously served our country. As part of our ongoing commitment in supporting veterans and their family members pursuing academic excellence, we are proud to announce the Vets National Advocates Annual Academic Scholarship.

Each year (five) $500 scholarships will be awarded to deserving applicants.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

All interested applicants who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Applicants must be a servicemember or a spouse/dependent of a servicemember
  • Applicants must submit an original essay of at least 500 words (topic provided below)
  • To qualify, application forms must be filled out completely
  • You must provide your Twitter and Facebook account names as part of your registration

APPLICATION DEADLINE

  • The deadline to submit all complete and qualifying applications is December 1, 2015.
  • The names of the finalists will be announced online on December 15, 2015. Finalists will also receive notifications by phone and email.

SOCIAL MEDIA VOTING

Only content posted on Facebook and Twitter between December 15, 2015 and January 15, 2016 will be considered.

  • Top submissions will be announced December 15, 2015 via the Mattar Veterans Facebook page and Twitter profile.
  • Twitter – You will be judged on the number of favorites your post receives.
  • Facebook – You will be judged on the number of likes and shares your post receives.

The eligible applicant with the most “likes” and shares on Facebook and the most “favorites” on Twitter will determine the winner. The winner will be notified onFebruary 3, 2016.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

All rules, regulations and policies of the utilized social media channel must be followed. The use of unrelated material to increase votes will not be considered and may disqualify an applicant from winning a scholarship.

The scholarship selection committee is dedicated to providing equal opportunities and does not discriminate in any way.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

By submitting your application you consent to having your name, likeness and general personal information (school name, year in school, city, etc.) used in promotional materials.

ESSAY TOPIC

Explain in more than 500 words how you have positively contributed to the veteran community.
