Northeastern to Host Vocational Rehab for Veterans
Northeasterns Veteran and Military Services office will host a free vocational rehabilitation and employment information session for veterans on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Alumni Center.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs VR&E program is designed to help eligible veterans and active duty service members find employment. Services include vocational counseling, training, and career placement.
The info session is open to all Massachusetts veterans and will be led by a Boston-??based VR&E counselor, who will answer all Voc Rehab questions. To register for the event, please click here.
We want to help educate and empower the entire Massachusetts veteran community, said Andy McCarty, an Air Force veteran and the director of veteran and military services at Northeastern. I cant possibly overstate how important meaningful employment is for a veterans successful transition out of the military.
The info session dovetails with Northeasterns longstanding commitment to supporting the nations veterans and service members. The majority of the universitys student veterans participate in the federal governments Yellow Ribbon Program, which operates in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs and currently provides scholarships to more than 220 Northeastern student veterans who have served in the post-??????9/???11 era.
