Explaining Veterans’ Benefits on the Western Slope
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Department of Veterans Affairs sent one of its experts to the Western Slope to help our former military service men and women take advantage to the benefits available to them.
Veterans of Grand Junction get some one-on-one time with a benefits specialist to help them with anything from claim filing to pension requests.
The benefits specialist will be making several stops all along the Western Slope area to ensure that the needs of low income and disabled veterans are met.
“Those people that have protected our freedoms have benefits and they should be very very important to the American public, says Barbara Martinez of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The benefits specialist will be in Grand Junction at the Homes for All Veterans from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday before heading to Montrose Veterans Community Clinic on Thursday.
Walk-ins are welcome in Grand Junction, but unfortunately all appointments are booked for the Montrose stop.
You can call (970) 249-7791 to schedule an appointment in November.
