Iraq Combat Vet to Deliver BU Keynote on Veterans Day
Retired Army Sgt. Justin R. Anderson, who was medically retired in November 2004 due to injuries received in combat in Iraq, will speak at Bellevue University Nov. 11.
He will speak at 11 a.m., and again at 6 p.m. at the universitys Military-Veterans Center at 2108 Harvell Circle on the southwest corner of Harvell and Herman drives.
Andersons topic will be Veterans Day, what it means to be a veteran and the sacrifices that veterans make.
Anderson served as an Army infantryman from February 2003 to March 2004.
In June of 2003, while conducting combat operations in Baghdad, Anderson sustained a gunshot wound to the left knee as well as shrapnel injuries to his lower back.
He is a Bellevue native and a 2010 graduate of Bellevue University.
He is also a 2012 graduate of the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Ariz.
