Plan to Eliminate Veteran Homelessness in Louisville Unveiled

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) A plan to eliminate veteran homelessness in Louisville was unveiled Tuesday.

The initiative, called Rx: Housing Veterans, was announced by Mayor Greg Fischer and The Coalition for the Homeless.

The goal is to find permanent housing for 360 veterans in the city by the end of 2015.

Fifteen local agencies will assist to help meet the goal including Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) and Robley Rex VA Hospital Homeless Programs that accessed 369 HUD-VASH housing vouchers.
