Veterans’ Facility in High Point Gets Makeover by Home Depot Volunteers

High Point, NC — About 20 Home Depot volunteers were at Caring Services Inc., Vet Safety Net in High Point to give it a makeover.

The volunteers will be lending their talents to installing walkways, planting new flowerbeds and shrubs, installing benches, a patio and a fire pit to be used by veterans at the facility.

Home Depot, in partnership with the Home Depot Foundation have focused on improving the houses and lives of U.S. Military veterans and their families. Home Depot volunteers have plans to working on more than 1,000 houses for veterans across the country from September 11th to Veterans Day as part of the 4th Annual Celebration of Service Campaign. The campaign gives local Home Depot employees a chance to volunteer and improve their community.

The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $80 million to provide safe housing for veterans and with the help of volunteers have improved more than 12,000 houses for veterans nationwide since 2011.
