Local Vet is a Graduate of NS2 Serves

On Friday, Nov. 21, in suburban Washington, DC, 20 U.S. military veterans were honored by NS2 Serves for completing a rigorous 11-week training course that culminated in their becoming Certified SAP Associates.

The course which covered the use of SAP solutions for data modeling, data services, reporting, analysis and evaluation, as well as fundamental business, presentation, and teamwork skills qualified these young veterans for high-paying careers such as data warehouse administrator or data architect.

Melroses Todd Brunner was among those who graduated.
NS2 Serves Chairman Joseph Kernan (Vice Admiral, US Navy, Ret.) thanked not only the graduating veteran trainees, but also their families for supporting them throughout their military service and this period of career transition.

If you want to know why this program is so important, just listen to these graduates, said Kernan. We choose to join the military, but it is our families who then must support us in that choice. At NS2 Serves, we all believe that those who serve our country deserve to thrive in civilian life, as do their families.

Mark Testoni, President of NS2 Serves, himself a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, echoed that sentiment

To the 20 young men, women, and your predecessors from the first class … thank you for the effort you put in the past 11 weeks, Testoni said. This is not easy stuff … It is a privilege and honor to be associated with you.

As each veteran trainee received their certificate, they also shared a few words of what the experience meant for them.

The program is now accepting applications for the March 2015 NS2 Serves training course. Any post-9/11 U.S. military service veteran with a high school diploma or GED who is within three years of their date of separation is eligible to apply. Anyone interested can visit ns2serves.org/apply-now to learn more and begin an email to the NS2 Serves staff.
