Montana Veterans Affairs To Hold Town Hall Meeting

HELENA, Mont. (AP) The Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting a town hall in Missoula to take questions from Montana veterans.

The meeting will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 at the Montana Army National Guard Readiness/Reserve Center.

It will include officials from the VA Montana Health Care Administration and the Veterans Benefits Administration.

The town hall is one of many the VA is holding around the country meant to improve services and rebuild trust among veterans.

A national audit ordered this spring after reports of long wait times and falsified records at the Phoenix VA Center found some patients in Montana wait an average of 48 days for their first appointment.

Montana’s VA sites at Fort Harrison and in Billings were among those flagged for further investigation.
