Veterans Affairs, DOD Open Clinic at Beaufort Naval Hospital

BEAUFORT, S.C. The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense are opening a new dermatology clinic at the Beaufort Naval Hospital.

The grand opening of the clinic is set for Thursday.

The new clinic will serve veterans and active duty military. The agencies say that bringing the services closer to patients on South Carolina’s southern coast will save the government more than $250,000 a year.

It’s the latest collaboration between the Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston and the Beaufort Naval Hospital. The facilities also share a mobile MRI unit.
